A few of my photos

These are some of my favorite photos that I've taken. I will admit, they are not my greatest work, but they each have a strong sentimental value.

1. John

In summer of 2007 I was hired as a photographer to tour with 2 local bands on a 2 week east coast tour, and was the first tour I'd been on. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was one of my favorite experiences. Going days without showering and sleeping on strangers' floors, not to mention the 100+ degree weather, may not seem like a fun time to all, but it was definitely memorable.

This photo was taken at a show in Georgia. Shooting at shows is a lot like war photography, you have almost no control over any of the subjects, lighting situations, and overall settings, so often times you may end up with nearly no usable photos. But the light was (surprisingly) pretty good in this venue, and I was able to snap this photo of the guitarist of one of the bands. It's not exactly portfolio-worthy, but it was my favorite from the tour, and one of my all time favorites.

2. Allison

This is a very carefully executed photo that I took strictly for my portfolio. The model is my sister Allison, and it was shot using a plastic tablecloth as a makeshift backdrop and a few strobes for lighting. The blue-ish effect was done through tweaking the white balance.

3. the years gone by

This is a promotional shot for the band the years gone by, taken in August of 2008. The general concept is they are involved in a spaghetti-eating contest. It ran in Substream Magazine, which my first photo to be published in a national magazine.

4. Bunny

This is a photo of a 92 year old woman named Winifred, or more affectionately known as Bunny, a family friend to my girlfriend's family. She lives alone in her house, and has since her husband passed years ago. She doesn't have any children or any real immediate family, and doesn't drive, so she spends a lot of time alone in her house, solving crossword puzzles and reading dirty romance novels.

Thank you for looking,
